In EFB we can set VFR pattern for departure and destination airports, and those are visible in the EFB and in the HUD compass in the upper left screen corner…but not in the avionics, there there is a stright purple line from and to airports without VFR pattern. Can pattern be added to avionics too? Otherwise if you are on the path in avionics, you are not on path on EFB and HUD and viceversa.
Would be nice, but maybe not realistic. If the G1000 does not support it irl it would be an added feature. Just before arrival I set my localizer coarse to the runway heading so i can orient myself and fly the legs of the circuit more or less correct.
You are right, I don’t expect to see visual approach in avionics due they have not in real life, but custom points…
at the moment I apply this method: I add in the enroute section of the EFB the two waypoints of the cruise leg, which coincide with the last point of the take-off procedure and the first of the landing procedure; then I send the planning to avionics. In this way the cruise section between avionics and EFB coincide and the autopilot can also be used if desired
As the name says VFR is visual. You shouldn’t navigate in VFR using instruments, especially in a traffic pattern. Cross country or navigating complex airspaces is a gray zone. But in general the G1000 is an IFR instrument. For VFR you would more likely use apps like Sky Demon.
Yes this is what I do now also.
