Hi Virpil users,
I configured cockpit pitch/roll to my x/y axis on the alpha stick and forward/sideways to the stick on the CM3 throttle.
I notice that the stick on the stick misbehaves in the sim.
Here is a video:
it shows that when I go to the stick’s config page, the y axis is full right while the x is full left.
Then I move it a bit and it’s centered.
I switch to the throttle - it’s all good. Back to the stick, and its crazy again - as if it doesn’t send a consistent signal, unless i move it.
In the sim it means that every once in a while my view will start drifting and just go craze. Its annoying, and I really like using these two controls to move about in cockpit and drone cameras like a console gamepad’s.
Anyone has an idea? (I contacted their support, but maybe someone has an idea)
Ok, Virpil stuff is different. First, have only ONE virpil device connected at a time. Next run the VIRPIL configuration software and update the firmware and etc. Follow this guide posted below. You can BRICK virpil devices if don’t do it correctly.
These folks have lots of virpil videos and they know what they are saying, find the one which will help you, most likely setting up the software of the virpil grip in question.
Hmm, juding by the video, by X/Y on the WarBrd, you mean the analog-stick gamepad thingy (the rX/rY) on a Constellation Alpha grip?
Besides an axis it also triggers a button to “on” when you move it from it’s center position. You can verify this in the VPC Joystick Tester tool as well. (Buttons 32 - 35 by default) You could also map an axis to a single movement instead of an axis.
Perhaps binding it in MSFS to a partial axis or button instead of the full axis will get you better results.
I’ve mapped mine to:
But that would not recenter the view through. (though I bound the push-action on that analog stick to do that)
Ive bound the cockpit translations (translate cockpit view left etc) to the switch next to it (under the red button), which are mapped as button 8-11 by default.
Thanks.
I did set it up as Virpil recommends and in their tool as well as the windows usb game controller cknfignit seems fine.
I wilo verify the rX/rY thing, that was my intention.
But yoy can see its not stable, on the 3rd time it was ok, abd when i mive the stick you see its gradual, only that it eset to full or empty inout inatead of middle ground.
