Visual-Assisted Landing Made Easy - flying Darkstar

I figured this out all by myself so I will DEFINITELY be crowing like Peter Pan on this one. But after literally failing at visual landing for so long I finally figured out how to easily line up with the runway at any distance as long as the runway is waypointed.

For airliners this shouldn’t be a problem as it should be your star destination and final approach.

If you know the Runway’s heading then all you need to do is take the pink-boxed waypoint indicator and travel in a direction until it is on that heading. Then you line up your plane (yellow tick) and the green-diamond vector of travel with the pink box and you are perfectly aligned to that runway.

You can make an otherwise visual landing with this nifty trick. I needed to figure something out for Darkstar because it’s incredibly unreliable at landing since your visual queues don’t show up at a great distance and your glide slope is a necessary ~1,400 feet per second at 200 knots lol. You begin to risk stall at 190 knots.

It must be landed “visually”.

So if you haven’t flown the Darkstar now you know what we have to put up with.

I expect with this trick that my landing success rate with any aircraft will go up to 90%+ a huge improvement for me.

Here’s some pics of what I’m talking about.

Annnnnd phew:

Thank you for this. I’ll give it a try when I fly tomorrow.

How did it turn out?

Right now I’m tackling gliders. I might need to get more than the MSFS ordinary gliders though to do any good work with them.

No it did not work for me. It was not showing me the direction of the runway.
