I’m currently using the EXTINCT HP Reverb 2 headset and am looking at migrating to something else. Is anyone out there using the Vibe Pro 2 headset? Is so, how do you like it? What do you use in place of Mixed Reality Portal? Steam VR? How are the graphics? Thankyou in advance for any feedback!!
Also wanted to include Meta Quest 3 users…
I’ve had the Vive Pro and Vive Pro 2 ( current ). It’s a good headset, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend buying one right now.
Cons
It’s relatively expensive for 2+ yr old tech.
Lenses are ok, but get glare when flying at night.
Audio from built-in headphones is so-so.
Headset can get warm, so you want a cool room, or a small fan blowing at you
Requires Lighthouses for tracking, which means you need space / tripods
Vive Console drivers are annoying, and heavy on perf.
Pros
Good resolution ( 2k per eye ) - instruments in glass cockpit planes are almost sharp ( 4k per eye is perfect )
Good FOV
Headset is great if you wear glasses, fits NP
It’s pretty comfortable to wear
Runs well with a 3080Ti ( you’ll need to tune graphics in game, ofc )

I agree with Brent. I’ve had a Vive, and Index, and now a VP2. I never would have bought it if not for already having the stations/controllers from the Index.
Its resolution is pretty great, maybe too high for current cards, even, but the lenses are awful. They have a tiny sweet spot and lots of rays. The audio is OK. It does get hot, but that never really bothered me.
It uses its own Vive software, but it’s pretty hands-off and works well with SteamVR.
If mine died, I’d get a Q3.
