Voice Attack solves many issues in VR. With my Quest2 I can even change the MR lock frequency on the fly since I can have a command that executes a BAT file. I use it to command the autopilot some but have problems with it consistently recognizing setting radio frequencies. But I really want it to work with not only bringing up the ATC window, but allowing me to choose a 1,2,3.. option. Sometimes it works but most times it acts like the ATC window is not in focus so I have to resort to using the mouse. Any ideas?
I also use VA and experience the same issue. I have found it depends where your mouse pointer is located when you use the voice commands.
For example I have found that if the mouse pointer is hovering over the GPS or ATC window then the voice commands do not activate in MSFS. I am not sure if it is also necessary to click on an area like the cockpit glass as well - I tend to do that out of habit.
This is an annoying âbugâ and it still catches me out quite frequently - but give the above a try and see if it works for you.
I use VA as well and this is the issue. Itâs a bug thatâs been around for a long time. If your mouse pointer is over any open window then you canât use any commands (keyboard shortcuts, VA commands, button presses etc.). My solution: Iâm just in the habbit of always moving my mouse pointer to the floor of the aircraft when Iâm done using it no matter what. I just always keep it there, near the rudder pedals. Then my commands always work. Note you donât even need the ATC window open. Your commands will work with or without the ATC window as long as your mouse pointer is appropriately stowed
This is a know bug that did not exist in the beginning. It was introduced several sim updates ago. When the mouse is interacting with any game panel (also just hovering the mouse over them), external commands are not reaching the sim. At one point it was even that bad that the input of hardware rudders and throtlles was not recognised when the mouse was interacting with a panel. The latter problem has been solved but voice-attack still has a problem.
My solution is to assign a hardware button to toggle the ATC panel, lookup wich number you need to select, close the panel and speak the command. Works a bit like real life where you need to push a button before starting to transmit on the radio⊠For reponding with ârogerâ or âcopyâ you donât need to lookup. Itâs always number 1.
Thanks for the help - Iâm having success saying âSelect Oneâ now with not having the mouse on the ATC window.
I am having other issues with getting the MSFS Agent on flightsim.to work well with commands that have an â*â at the end so that you can input a value for altitude, heading, vertical speed, and radios. It seems that it works OK sometimes but I really have to say it quickly and right now, trying to say âradio at 110.9â (seems to be more recognition consistent than " set com1 standby at 110.9" ) doesnât actually change the com1 frequency. It might be that the SDK has changed so that the VAP file that I copied from flightsim.to doesnât work anymore.
Hate to use this forum to work VA issues but I think it adds so much functionality to our VR world. Is there another forum that helps with VA word recognition and other such issues?
can anyone help me please am using VA it recognize mu voice and it going well but when i come to msfs the msfs doesnât take action on voice attack command i tried many options i couldnât figure it out what is going on help please
The Voice Attack window will show you what it has heard you say and what actions it took. Have you defined any commands for MSFS?
I understand that but the problem is not on voice attack msfs doesnât take action i can see the command on voice attack it going well
yes i did defined i tried it with landing gear and flaps nothing is moving when i say the command
It is pretty hard to diagnose over the forum; there could be a few different things causing issues. Iâd start with checking your command definitions in VA. I think by default they get sent to the active window. Make sure MSFS has the focus, or set the commands to send to MSFS always. Otherwise, the manual is excellent, and/or youâll get better support on the VA Discord.
