Hello, layperson computer skills. But is this possible in MSFS? I tried it, but it did not work. could be brilliant, not having to press keyboard keys.

Not natively no, but there are 3rd parties working on such a feature for the ATC such as https://www.beyondatc.net/.

As DAQUA3828 said check out VoiceAttack. You can try it out for free with some limited voice commands so you can get an idea if it offers what you need. It does take a little effort to set up but also quite easy for very simple actions.

I love this idea of voice control. This would be a huge benefit to many who are disabled. Microsoft already has voice recognition software. This could be a big win for Asobo at relatively little cost.

I started with the free version, as there are 10 possible commands. After a few flights, I bought the full version. Now nearly erverything is possible.
