Vor flight

I would start by reviewing this thread:

Yes, absolutely. If you have one, I’d try to use a mouse rather than the Xbox controller.

However, if you’re using the Xbox controller and an analog gauge aircraft, you “lock” onto the OBS control knob by clicking the thumbstick and then use the triggers and/or thumbstick to adjust the CDI/HSI to a desired radial.

If you are using a Garmin-based glass cockpit, the process is similar for manipulating the controls. However, you need to use the CDI key to toggle from GPS to one of the NAV radios depending on the configuration of the aircraft and Garmin type.

I’d recommend using an analog aircraft, since the simplicity of the systems will allow you to remain focused on learning the basics and minimize distraction from all the other features of a glass cockpit that you aren’t using.

Using an aircraft that also has an autopilot will make the learning process easier — especially on Xbox (if you don’t have actual flight peripherals). You can set the autopilot to NAV and it will fly the radial course you have selected. This will free up your workload to focus on the task of learning the radios, CDI/HSI and how it all comes together to navigate.

A good choice for this might be the Beaver included with the base sim. Use the tablet to switch Avionics > Analog Radios & Dual VOR/CDI

I can’t help you with this, but we have many UK pilots who are active on the forum, so I’m sure someone will chime in here.
