Hi! i’m trying to find a way to use/read VOR in the 787. I tuned the freq in the nav rad section in the FMS, and activated VOR 1 in the PFD. After that, i can see the direction of the VOR station in relation to my position and distance, but i’m not being able to see the entire rose with the VOR direction and alignment. I don’t understand how to change that mode, which you can do in other planes like the 747 by just turning a knob.
Any ideas?
Try clicking the centre of the range control knob to toggle between rose and arc view of the navigation display.
Doing what you said works for toggling between the rose and arc, but sadly VOR gets represented by a simple pointing arrow instead of the classic arrow and alignement bar. It’s like having a NDB tuned.
The bearing pointer (arrow) is the standard information.
You are talking about the HSI mode and the CDI which is more conventient to use, but it provides the same information as the bearing pointer.
