Checkout VR won’t launch (the print screens are for Oculus), but the procedure is the same for other headsets, check the post in that thread from CAP537268 for the files/paths of other headsets
So better delete you manual entry, download the “OpenXR for WMR”, this should create the entry in the registry at the correct location. Then you just need to edit the path to the Oculus Runtime.
I manually done the path, because the OPENXR FOR WMR send me to a diferent path in c: system32, but i have the oculus app installed in a diferent drive, in this case drive E.
in the simulator seems like everything is working fine with VR now, but the major problem persists, i still don´t have images in the headset
Beginner314,
You are brilliant. I have spent hours trying everything to get my Oculus to work and after checking your post I realised why mine wasn’t working.
Thank you for taking the time to post.
You will need to install “openvr for wmr”. This will create the the regedit entry with a path like c:\windows\system… and the open vr dev tool wlill show the same path.
That path is wrong, that’s why you need to change the path in the registry to the oculus runtime (E:\Oculus…\Support\oculus-runtime…64.json or whatever the path is for the oculus openvr runtime on your system).
But you need the “openvr for wmr” app installed!
Just creating manually the registry entry with the path to the openvr runtime without having openvr installed, does not help.
I have open vr for wmr installed.
and…suddenly today everything is working!! just like that
now I have vr in the simulator and in the oculus app.
seems like a game that I bought to my daughter is causing these black screens. It was uninstalled from the oculus library and everything is working ok now, just like magic
