VR Headset Cable Management

What are you folks doing for cable management with wired headsets? My ceiling is a bit out of reach. I’d like to have something that can be mounted to my chair that keeps the cable off of the ground. I keep my PC on a small stand next to my desk so it’s off of the floor, but the cable hangs down and I don’t want to roll over it with my chair. I’ve tried mounting it in various ways, but then headset movement can become restricted.

Unfortunately, my current cable management method is to just roll over the cable  or wrap it around my neck :skull_and_crossbones:

Something you could mount to your chair, lol like a bike flag or fishing pole, but to keep your cable out from underfoot?

Personal Comnents

This is what I use. Very comfortable and makes it easy to put the headset on and off.

pfffftt who needs cable management…

But really though, this is an issue for most who own a wired headset but can’t set up hanging straps or whatever from the ceiling (i too have vaulted ceiling and can’t hook up pulley’s).

I haven’t seen any solutions for this other than wrapping the cable up neatly and only having enough slack for that you need

I’m assuming he has like 16’ ceilings from his “are high” comment.

This.

But the idea to mount a flag pole or something in conjunction with one of those things may work .

I drape my cable over a chair behind me. Works great.

OK, no laughing please, but I cut a 2ft piece of 1/2in pvc, nylon ties to fasten it to the corner of my desk and put a 6ft fiberglass fishing rod into it with the G2 cable strapped to it. It flexes nicely and when I take the headset off to put on my stand, the rod and cable swing nicely along with it and stays out of the way. My cord never touches the floor and it keeps it from getting kinked. Hope this helps in some way.

I just use a bendy tablet holder that clamps to the desk and use a soft velcro loop to support the cable. It’s completely out of the way. When the neck is straightened it’s well above head height from a desk.

Funnily enough - exactly my solution too.

I found a 2 meters floor lamp with a heavy enough bottom which I put in front of my foot petals. The lamp can also go behind your chair with room to rotate chair. Works great for me.

my cable solution is to have no cable - i use a quest 2 wirelessly
