So when I turn on VR mode, instead of the usual fully 3D world where I can turn my head to look out the windows, move my head forward to get closer look at instruments, etc., I’m placed in a black world with a movie screen in front of me. If I move my head forward/back or side to side, the screen moves with me (I don’t get any closer to instruments or windows). The world displayed on said screen IS 3D (feel like I’m watching a 3D movie in a theater). Other games work fine. VR in XPlane 11 works fine.
I tried googling the issue but I was sure of the terminology…
did you try to restart your oculus? I had similar issues once a while, can’t trigger the motion sensors properly. I had to re-draw my safety zone in oculus. Then it worked fine.
I don’t think it’s an issue with sensors. It looks like I’m in a dark movie theater with the game projected into a screen in front of me. The projection is in 3D though.
If you’re running SteamVR, make sure you have FS2020’s properties for ‘Use Desktop Game Theater while SteamVR is active’ set to disabled. Having it enabled will cause the 3D but really 2D issue you are experiencing.
Hmm I don’t think it’s steam desktop mode as I’ve never enabled it and it looks like there’s a few steps to even set it up. Also, the view I had does not look like a steam desktop environment. It’s all black except the screen which has flickering edges.
If you launch FS2020 through Steam, it’s enabled by default and this very issue caught me out when I was trying to, and eventually succeeded through disabling this setting in, getting a PSVR set up to run FS2020. It’s a quick check in any case, just find FS2020 in your Steam libarry, select settings and the option is on the first tab that shows, so just uncheck it if it is checked.
