I submitted a bug on SU15 but it didn’t seem to get any traction. So perhaps it isn’t SU15 related? I figured I’d check here in the main VR topic and see if there are any solutions. Although I never had this prior to SU15.
Anyway, I get frequent mouse freezing in VR. I can see on the 2D render that the main system cursor is still working okay. It can either act like a dirty mouse ball of the old days or be completely locked up for 30/40 seconds.
It sometimes comes back on if I right/left click a few times. Another thing that helps is to bump the Windows key to knock the sim out of focus and then focus main window back.
Often it gets triggered by opening a menu, although it can just happen randomly.
“Noisy” peripherals can also cause this. Unplug ALL controllers with axes (joysticks, yokes, gamepads, pedals etc.) and run the sim only with keyboard and mouse. If it runs fine, add the controllers one by one until you find the culprit and then increase dead-zone range for it.
I thought that at first, I went from USB dongle to Bluetooth. But the 2D cursor is just fine, it’s only the 3D VR cursor.
Ah, like the white dot issue from a while back? I have two Logitech throttle quadrants. The are jittery on all 6 levers. I usually only keep one connected. I wish someone made a simple quadrant with Hall sensors.
When it happens again, I should be able to bump the levers to verify.
