Always had a problem with G2 stuttering and jumping when moving head. Seemed better with latest updates (SU7, WMR) but still stutters a bit when flying into dense areas.
Today has a new Nvidia driver update. Perhaps it will improve things (not like their last update).
(i7-10700, RTX3080, 32G, G2)
Again after flying for an hour or so the VR went jumpy and the labels began to float. Closing and starting a new flight did not fix it. Restarting MSFS fixed the problem. No need to start Windows 10
Did you turn HAGS off in Windows 10 Graphics Settings? This fixed it for me even if it comes back now and again. BF
Yes, HAGS off. The latest Nvidia update yesterday shows a definite improvement. Smoother and increased fps. Thought, yay it’s finally fixed, but then still starts to jump when flying into dense scenery areas. My Q2 doesn’t do that. It’s very smooth but not as clear as the G2. So it can be achieved in the G2, eventually.
The last NVIDIA driver is… AWESOME ! ![]()
It’s night and day for me. From a solid 22-25fps to a solid 30-45 fps.
#Hat off
Which Nvidia Driver version are you using? and do you have Motion reprojection on or off?
Looks like a new one was released yesterday, Driver Version: 497.09
Thanks
Last 497.09
No reprojection because the HTC VIVE PRO 2 doesn’t allow the one from steamVR and the one with htc console is just meh… at this time.
r7 5800x
rtx 3070
32gb.
HTC VIVE PRO 2, Steam SS 100% 65%MSFS (1590*1590) 100 LOD 100 (the other one) all High/ultra but not cloud and occlusion which are low/disable.
Kenny, Thank you. I will make sure that I have the latest NVIDIA, BF
Kenny, Can you give me the latest driver’s number? My Nvidia Driver is 496.76 BF
drivers 497.09
Same here. After about 10 minutes playing, image suddenly gets all funky as if one smeared the image sideways when I move my head. Also cannot recenter VR anymore.
Update 7 really screwed everything up.
I have downloaded 497.09. VR is looking great. A couple of weeks ago I could not read the instruments. Now they are clear and the ground is much clearer as well. I appreciate all the help I have received on line from MSFS enthusiasts. BF
Similar here: From stable 28-30 FPS to stable 33-35 FPS
497.09 is AWESOME! Gives my GPU some room to breathe when capped to 30 FPS.
11900K
3090 OC
32GB CL16 3600
NVMe PCIe 4.0
OpenXR render scale 100%, TAA 80%, MR off, all settings ultra/maxed
Okay back here to confirm, 497.09 has been pretty good in VR. Folks in general 2d forum are loosing their minds over this driver, but for VR its kinda awesome! I copied my setting over from last driver and it seem to work great. No CTD when switching from VR, seems pretty solid.
SU7- I think if it wasn’t for the CTL+0 nonsense, SU7 would have been a great update!
Its the very first time I can actually use motion repo and have a good flight, previous updates (Nvidia drivers, sim updates ) were an absolute mess.
3070 12700K 32gb Reverb G2 (OXR 70, 80 TAA)
Yes VR is looking very good with the latest nvidia. I am 50/50 should i use without motion reprojection with smooth and stutterles 45fps OR with motion reprojection. Both worked great!
what is this? and where is this setting? I’m using Oculus Rift.
How do you set TAA at a percentage?
You don’t , most folks will list like TAA and 70% and it means they are running TAA with a render resolution of 70%. I myself run TAA and 80 with my Reverb G2 and Open XR.
No, this has not been solved. I turned HAGS off, and still run into it from time to time. It’s unpredictable when it happens, and it’s not clear what is the trigger.
I’m finding if I turn off Live Weather, the jumping jitters subside somewhat. If I also turn off Traffic completely it smooths out too. So seems the extra load may be taxing the G2.
