in a recent video VR Flight Sim Guy recommended this tool:
And what can I say. This thing works! Like really works. I know some of the stuff the tool does is considered snake oil, but I can recommend this to everyone.
In addition am using RTSS to cap my frames and this combination made the sim finally smooth for me. Not just for a minute until ne next stutter destroys the immersion, but for a long time. The occasional hitch when making rapid movements with the head is still there, but even those have gotten way less violent and they occure a lot less. Loving this thing!
I am using Winhance to run a minimal, bloated system. That seems to interfere with tools like these. My VR becomes all jittery. As soon as I quit the āappā and restart, all jitters gone again..
Stops background applications and services that impact performance
Nope no thank you, I would not trust any software that does this without absolute proper vetting. It may well work for you but personally this is one reason to avoid.
The code is public. You see exactly what the script is doing. So you can vett the hell out of this one. Or stay away, your choice.
And with everything in the āoptimizing your PCā-space: Your mileage may vary. With countless hardware combinations combined with even more software there is no way to tell, if a tool like this will actually be beneficial (without trying it).
But I had powerplan in balance with a X3D, and after the flight, powerplan was in Performanceā¦, so I donĀ“t know if it leave it balanced and shutting the simulator the app switch to performance?, and also after flight it opened Chrome an Firefox (they were closed before starting FS24ā¦) and started onedrive haha (when I have this disabledā¦).
Maybe touching in the options the app will not do nothing in that, but it needs to know how was the last PC state and leave it the same, that is basic. Anyway thanks, this promises. I reverted to a full system copy that I did before running this app, and all normal again. Regarding performance I am not sure if worse or better in my case.
The GUI is really good, sure in the future or now this app works well and helps somebody.
I got this and, being a former programmer, went right in and began editing the command file to remove fluff and have it start and stop the programs I thought necessary. Once I did that, it worked like a charm. With all my addons, I always had to remember which ones to start prior to FS and there were things running in the background like my backup software, iCloud, OneDrive, etc that were resource hogs I didnāt need when flying. You can set it up to restart those those things once FS ends. In addition, Virtual Desktop doesnāt work if your PC is not on your WIFI connection and so I have the script connect. From what I can tell, the version I downloaded restores things like power options.
