VR Question

Hi all:

Anyone ever look into the possibility of doing a cockpit share with dual VR headsets? I dont know if its possible, but I often have people over at my house and love showing them MSFS in VR! It would be awesome to have 2 Rifts attached to the same PC and they can be a passenger…Anyone ever look at this?

Topic moved into #virtual-reality-vr:general for questions / discussion.

It’s not easy to run two headsets on one computer. I think it has been done in general but don’t think it’s even possible to do with FS2020.

There is a shared controls project called Your Controls (or something pretty close to that) but it takes two computers, two copies of FS2020, a network, and the helper app.

I think this is only possible with two computers (and the appropriate connection between them) because two video outputs have to be rendered independently. Each person moves its own way. I guess it’s extremely uncomfortable if the video in the vr glass doesn’t correspond with the body position.

MSFS already has a hard time rendering smooth VR with current GPUs.
By having a second independent headset (to prevent the passenger from puking), it would basically need another GPU (or the equivalent in rendering power).

Not easily feasible today.

Whenever I want to let visitors experience the 3D thing I set autopilot to ON when airborne, then they can use the headset.
