VR Resolution differs from in-game resolution for VR - why?

Hi all.
My Oculus VR is set to the following:

But in-game VR resolution is different and I can’t understand why. It’s 1990x2006!

I tried using the Open XR toolkit to upscale, but upscaling is actually reducing the resolution value.

I’m trying to establish which resolution provides the best performance for my RTX3070 but given these odd values, I can’t figure out what is the baseline and then how to scale up or down when needed using the OpenXR toolkit.

Appreciate any help on the matter.

The horizontal resolution shown (1990) refers to a single eye.
Also, if you use the OPENXR tools (I don’t), you’re probably using the FOV feature.

I didn’t use any upscaling at the time.
If 1990 is per eye, then both of them should be 3980 but I don’t see 3980 anywhere.

Never mind that… I still don’t get why when I upscale via OpenXR the resolution drops.

Check the DevMode FPS counter to see your actual, final resolution.
