You cannot increase the Resolution of VR (without buying a better VR HMD with higher resolution), all you can do is raise the SuperSampling which gives it a “false” effect of higher Resolution at great cost to the performance.
So if you upgrade your GPU then yes you would get better performance, you could increase the SS as well & other Graphics Settings but don’t go thinking you’ll get it running at 90FPS in Ultra, you will still have to make compromises.
I have used 60 render scaling and a little above as well as several Ultra settings such as the LOD and others. I guess I was expecting VR to look more like the razor sharp images on the 4k screen than is possible… So far VR resolution looks roughly about 25% of, or less, than on the 4k screen. I get anywhere from 25 to 50 fps on the 4k screen depending on where I am flying. Very sharp and smooth.
I have been running all settings for the G2 headset in the highest speed and resolution. 90Hz, high res, etc. I’ve read many of the suggested settings for VR and tried many…
I’m very new to gaming, I never cared for gaming until the msfs 2020 arrived as I am a pilot and thought I would enjoy this particular game.
I do enjoy the game, just would like higher resolution in VR. I also use Track Ir and it is also very smooth in 4k.
