VR will not start (Valve Index) - help!

Hi. Steam VR does not start up on Ctrl+Tab (keys or clicking on Welcome menu). Nothing happens.

Steam VR works as normal with Steam games. I have MS 1.15.10.0, and have installed the latest Steam VR beta 1.17.8 in case that fixed it - no. I have an i9 machine with 2080 card, so no issues there.

Am stuck - help!

Maybe double-check the activate VR keyboard shortcut in MSFS controls?

Start SteamVR on the index button before hitting Ctrl+Tab.

After opening the Flight Simulator, on you Valve Index at the opposite side of the IPD slider, there is a button, if you press it, it will turn the Valve Index on, and start SteamVR, after Steam VR is Running, with Headset and Base stations identified, click with your mouse on the Flight Simulator screen to change the application focus, and press Ctrl+Alt to allow the Flight Simulator to activate VR.

Pressing the button as you describe did not fire Steam VR (and I’m not sure it does).

Anyway, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Steam (no joy), and finally uninstalled/reinstalled MSFS - which worked!

So, really painful, but I’m back flying again. Thanks for your help.
