VR with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

Has anyone tried a VR device (specifically an HP Reverb G2) on a GTX 1060 equipped PC? Does it work and work well?
I don’t want to spend $650 and be disappointed.

Not meeting minimum specs

Thanks GAParadise. That answers that. It is a disappointment but not as much as spending $650 and then finding out it won’t work.

I suppose 2 1/2 years mileage on a once-powerful gaming laptop makes it obsolete.

See if you can find an older, 2nd hand Rift or VIVE. The hardware you have was build for an older generation of VR headsets that run at lower resolutions. I’m running a 3 year old Rift (1364x768 for each eye) on a GTX 1080 (8GB Ram) and I’m quite happy with it - and it’s not stressing the graphics card at all.
