VRAM leak when undocking a window

** UPDATE: VRAM leak happens when undocking a window (Using DLSS Frame gen). It does not matter aircraft or scenery.

I found that when you undock a window (i.e. a Primary Flight display panel), VRAM start going up.
This is exactly how I reproduce it, please if anybody can reproduce it better yet, so we can confirm and help MS/Asobo:

Relevant MSFS Graphics settings

  • Texture resolution: High
  • Raytraced shadows: Off
  • Set devleoper mode and Display FPS from menu (Shows VRAM Usage)

Test (Needs a second monitor)
1 - Open Inibuilds A320 in EDDL, Gate C1 - Medium
2 - Inside default cockpit view, wait for 5 min, for settle down texture streaming and to confirm stable VRAM Usage (mine aprox 7 G)
2 - Inside default cockpit view, press AltGr + Left Click to undock the ND display panel.
3 - Watch VRAM going up indefinitely after a couple of minutes.
This obviously ends exceeding any dedicated VRAM, therefore using shared (RAM) memory and destroying FPS.

Please if this cause of vram leak has been reported, let me know so I delete the thread.
If no, please help me reproducing it.
Thanks

Hi, why user interface & Activities ? I think it should be in performance at least, but certainly not Interface & activities. I took hours just to test this, please let it be visible enough.

It is in the right sub-category but put the wrong information in my previous post. Corrected, thank you :+1:

I have tested as follows:

  1. spawned the default 320neo in at EDDF gate C1. Weather is set to clear weather.
  2. started battery, ground power, aligned IRS.
  3. waited for the VRAM to stabilize. It stabilized at 6.664GB
  4. right clicked the ND and dragged it onto my second monitor
  5. Watched the VRAM. It is at 6.275GB now, stabilized.

My GPU is a 4070, driver version 566.14

You are implying that having a second display open with something on it is the cause of running out of VRAM. This is not correct as I have had this issue more than once and I only have a single monitor.

Thanks

Correction: it happens when undocking a window (i.e. PFD). it’s not related to a second monitor. Everytime on my end, with any aircraft and airport. Weird.

Also, it happens only when DLSS frame generation is enabled.
