Excessive VRAM usage and VRAM memory swapping are some of the biggest causes of bad performance in MSFS.
I’d love to see the dev mode FPS menu expanded with a breakdown of categories that are consuming VRAM such as terrain, aircraft, scenery and so on. It would help see the effects that raising and lowering certain settings might have as well as give us some more understanding as to what is consuming the most VRAM.
I’d also like to see a VRAM meter added to the settings menu like some other games have. I understand its difficult to predict the exact usage of VRAM in a game where people can load custom aircraft or scenery, but it’d be great to get a generic meter of some sort to help people understand the most VRAM heavy settings in the menu.
