Update: my TV (a Samsung QN90C) is able to measure the framerate of the game. The framerate goes up and down wildly. I guess this is the reason behind the flickering. It goes up to 120 fps and than down to 48 in milliseconds. I have slight changes in framerates in other games with vrr, bur none of them flicker.
Even the careermode menue flickers and exhibits weird fps instabilities,
Please dear devs: optimize the ps5-version to run smoothly and stop flickering with vrr on.
Also flight over denser areas (like Kairo today) draw down the framerate excessively. The game needs a bit more polishing on ps5.
Same issue here. I have samsung qn85a and also get the annoying flickering. Can be very pronounced in menus. Seems to happen in VRR 120hz at any resolution 4K, 1440p, 1080p. This is the only game I have ever had this issue. I also noticed the wild fluctuating VRR between 48 to 120. And yes, I tried adjusting display transfer rates, its an issue with this game and not the TV.
Intensity seems to vary between only slightly visible to extremely off-putting and almost nauseating. Diabling VRR or 120hz is an option, but frustrating to have to lose a feature just to fix an issue that should not exist.
I really like this game, but so many bugs and issues prevent me from even considering looking at any dlc until the core issues like this are resolved.
Same for me. I want to use VRR to make the game more smooth, for which VRR is intenteded for. But I had to disable VRR in order to avoid headache from this flickering. Sometimes it is barely noticeable and sometimes it is a real immersion breaker and cause for headache.
I have VRR on in all other PS5 games. None of them flicker except the MSFS 2024. None of them exhibit such a extremely up and down of the framerate like the msfs does. This is nothing VRR can deal with. Even in a plain menu it flickers crazily.
