ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
W18 airport has been closed since 2017 yet is still used in Career Mode

ICAO, coordinates, or specific location:
N39.076812, W76.827577

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Issue is part of the default MSFS 2024 airport database.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Airport was listed as the flight destination for a Light Cargo Career Mission.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Open MSFS 2024.
  2. Try and go to airport W18 in Laurel MD.
  3. You should not be able to, the airport has been shut down for seven years and is no longer represented on charts. Google Earth shows that the owner has piled large mounds of earth on the runway and taxiways.

If that’s a bug, the entire Bush Flights category in 2020 was horribly bugged

It’s not the only airport that Asobo has zombified in Career Mode. There is a YouTube content provider who did a Career Ferry Mission to an airport in England and both runways at the destination were filled with yellow X’s. It’s fine to keep them in the game (they’re still visible from the air, after all), but don’t make them a destination in Career Mode!
In the current Google Earth photo of W18, the property owner has - instead of yellow X’s - placed mounds of dirt on the runway to discourage planes from landing there. I guess the Yellow X-method of marking a closed runway wasn’t doing the job. If Asobo wants to continue using W18, they should include the mounds of dirt.
