I have wake turbulence enabled and fly at 2x or 4x to save time. This, at times results in I getting close to other aricraft on finals, ahead of me. I use BATC AI traffic and today, while landing the Fenix a320, I got close to another a320 right in front of me with separation being like half a mile. BATC asked me to go around that I ignored (again saving time thing
). I was in for a nasty surprise, I believe, I was caught in wake turbulence of the aircraft in front of me and was violently thrown off the glideslope with pitch down. Had to very quickly recover, do a TOGA and go around. Obviously a lesson learnt in listening to the ATC.
My question is, is it how realistic is it for same size aircraft that gets caught in wake turbulence of another to be thrown off with pitch down?
