ISSUE DESCRIPTION
When in walk-around mode, the direction of walking is coupled to the direction of where you look at. This is very unnatural. The walk direction should be coupled to the direction of the body, so you can look around while walking in a straight line without constantly changing direction because you look around.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
Always when you are in walk-around mode in VR

it seems we have the same issue, i bound the tranlslate forward, left, right, back also on my joystick for comfortable walking around the plane since 3 days and VR mode is almost unusable as soon as I use the mouse in the cokpit. As soon as i use my VR controllers for switching buttons and switches, the issue is gone. if I understadn you correct, you have the same and the mouse is giving the direction to look and not the headset anymore, when these tranlsate buttons are assigned to the joystick? Do you have this also with mouse when sitting in the cockpit? in 2D everything works perfect and I guess its definetly a bug which has to rapidly fixed by Asobo. would be nice getting some feedback from you.
No, I donât have an issue with the mouse. Itâs just completely unnatural that if I walk forward and look around, the direction of the walking follows my head direction.
So my body stays in a direction, and I walk forward, as long as I only keep my head in the same direction, I can walk forward. As soon as I turn my head, the direction of walking changes with the direction of my head while at this moment my head is like 90 degrees of.
Just checked all controls and I found a keybinding, for unlocking head movement from charakter. in german you have to search for charakter, so i guess in english you have to search for charcter. give it a try and let me know. my issues are still not solved, maybe the installed userdefined view are causing my mouse issues. horrible and unusable my current situation in VR.
Hi there, I have just checked this and cannot find the setting, there is one for âhead trackingâ which has a different function. Can you clarify please?
search in controls for âcharacterâ binding, then you will get 3-4 displayed and then one of them should it be. as I have in mind, one is bind charcter and the other is unbind or something like this.
I think I found them, but they arenât the solution, sadly enough.
Do you have eventually selected the fixed view somewhere in the view section when calling up the VR toolbar - Cams? That was the reason behind my issues with decentering and moving around in VR with the mouse. While configuring and trying out the various view options, I must have accidentally switched to fixed view in the cockpit view. Has something similar happened to you maybe in the external or showcase view? I switched back to freelook yesterday, and everything runs smoothly again.
