Hi, I’m a hired gun for special air transports in Malaysia. But my current contract is delayed. So I need someone to stand in for a special contract.
FELDA aviation in India is waiting for some parts from FELDA factory in Malaysia. Its rainy season in Malaysia and the roads are in bad condition.
If you are a qualified bush pilot, go to Kerteh airport and sign in at the GA center. There is a Zlin Aviation Shock Ultra or a Zlin Aviation Savage Cub waiting for you at Parking ramp 8 (fuel box). You need to fly that baby to FELDA factory, pick up the parts and bring them to Kuantan airport, from where it will be flown out to India (not part of your contract).
The clerk at the ramp will hand out the keys to you and will advise the FELDA factory of your arrival. Load sheet is 1 crew (enter your weight, haha), no cargo and sufficient fuel for the two legs. There is no refueling at FELDA factory.
There should be a VFR flight plan filed from Kerteh WMKE to Kuantan WMKD. If not, file yourself.
Take off from WMKE heading south west for approximately 3 NM until you reach the main highway E8 connecting Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur. Follow the highway E8 to the south, passing intersections Kerteh and Kijal, a rest area as well as intersections Chukai, Chenih and finally Jabor.
At Jabor leave the highway heading 275° west for approximately 8 NM where you will find the FELDA factory building when crossing radial 345° VKN VOR. Hopefully I got the numbers right, did not take proper notes last time.
The factory building ist about 150ft wide and 400ft in length, stretching out in a north south direction. It is of low height with a corrugated metal roof.
The strip to land on is north of the factory building between palm oil trees. It has a width of about 100 ft between the trees and a length of about 1000 ft, but the first section is not usable as it is right behind the building, so aim for the second section.
The strip is quite uneven and sloped so make a few turns over the field to check out before attempting to land. Beware of the last section, might give you a surprise. But I’m fully confident in your bush pilot skills.
When you come to a full stop at the end, the factory workers will bring you the parts. Load the parts (approx. 430 lbs, add to yor weight) in the back, and do a takeoff run towards the factory building. Beware of your weight and CG and make it safe over the building and palm oil trees (fingers crossed).
Turn south east heading 135° for approximately 6 NM. You will return to highway E8 at intersection Kuantan. Contact Kuantan Tower to receive landing directions.
Park your baby at ramp 15 (fuel box) and deliver the parts to the clerk waiting and you will get rewarded for your services.
Happy Flying
