Since the last update v1.9.3 water wave foam have tiles repeat, this have not been tested sufficiency and at these altitude, previously there was no issue. Ultra setting, wave high quality

Disheartening that the marketing videos look so good, but the release versions are getting worse.
Is there somewhere we can vote to restore water to original appearance? For me, it looked best by far in the original release candidate, and downhill from there. After today’s patch, it looks worse than XP11’s.
This shot was using real weather with high winds. No obvious repeat pattern, and actually looked better in MSFS than the screenshot with the wave movement. Probably improvement was due to lower winds in mine, but no idea what the wind speed was and no ATIS was available.

That’s hideous! I think I’d rather have the oceans drained than see that. My first observation is your settings look like they’re all the way down in the areas that have to do with water, (or) your video card drivers are way out of date (or) your hardware specs are well below minimum. Again, it’s based on what I see since it’s just too horrid to imagine on anything else. Looks like it’s running on a notebook or laptop with 4gb of ram.
I only say this because If your system is above the minimums (pun intended) then something’s obviously messed up. Can you list your specs?

How to replicate bug, compare the video for testing:
- Set day time
- Go to higher altitude, wide ocean without mountain
- Water wave foam works with wind speed, increase wind speed from 30_40 to 150 gradually.
Any form of tiling only appears on higher altitude, not close range to ground, that is obvious.
Ps: My system have nothing to do with this, I have been in testing since alpha, ultra setting, intel I9, 2070 GPU card, my friend had the same tiling since 1.9.3
It will improve a little if you change custom weather to Live weather. On this video, it looks definitely far worse than il-2 1946 water.
Sorry but it must be asked and has very much a lot to do with 99.99999% of everything. I cannot duplicate it so there must be something else. You’re in the menu the entire time. Can you show it after you exit the menu?
I have 3 friends using comps I built them. Me and none of them have any issues other than actual known bugs, including my two computers so trust me when I say if it isn’t hardware related we will figure it out.
PS. By hardware I also mean driver. Did you tweak anything like nvidia’s experience, or and driver tool to something at any point? If so back it up then reset it. After driver updates they should always be reset anyway.
I have tested again, it appears related to location or certain type of water colour, if you go to PHTO, tiles are more obvious, the video was at PHTO.
Ps: Driver are default setting, (let 3d app manage quality)
The problem is when the conditions are calm. They’ve added an effect to make calm water less bland. However, it needs improvement. As indicated above.
How about showing us your settings. If they are not at least high then this is completely expected. As it is it just shows how bad it can look, it say nothing about how good it can be.
I’m on ultra and the new water shader is awful.

Yes, the new water in 1.9.3 look like blue pudding and not like water. In some cases it doesn’t look perspective but only like odd colors on the screen. Before the patch water was one of the best features of MSFS, but now I could cry by thing back what we already had.
Is there any way to get the old water back or do we have to wait for a payware which brings back what’s possible in this sim but no longer featured?
Only with very strong winds it’s still okay, but all this nice reflections an smooth, extremely detailed little waves are gone by this blue unironed filler.
Only better thing is that the interferences are gone… but what for?
So I guess this is a main problem but in my opinion it doesn’t get enough attention. The water looked the best when the sim was released since then it became worse and worse. Since the last few updates you can see all these “square boxes” in the ocean or on rivers, etc… All of the waves in these “boxes” have the same movement. Even the sun reflection looks like an oil painting meanwhile. When I create a wind layer close to the ground it looks “okay” because of the higher waves. But I think this issue takes a lot of the realism especially when you just want to enjoy the scenery. Hope they will fix this issue soon, miss the water from the release Version…

Thats not what I mean. The water masks look nice in some regions. I mean the way the waves behave. They make the same movement in a “square pattern”. They don’t move randomnly. Its like you made a video of a water surface and copied and pasted it. I am on my phone, I dont have a screenshot now…
I concur. I actually noticed today. Put some wind in to stir up the water and I get square tiles of water. Very reminiscent of early issues they had with water. Clearwater FL coastal waters.
I agree, I’m also seeing the squares in the water, never had that before the last update.
