Wave hight based on wind speed at altitude you are currently flying at. (REX2020 issue...)

Has anyone noticed that the hight of the waves being rendered is based on the current wind speed at the altitude that you’re currently flying at?

Flying at 35,500 above the gulf of California heading to Cabo. Winds currently at 125 knots (Hurricane force) but that is at 35,500. I am sure that the surface winds would be much calmer, and there should not be any white caps at all out on the ocean.

The white caps will decrease as you get closer to the surface of the water.

It would be nice if the simulator would look at the surface winds at your location and render the waves accordingly. Would add to the realism.

Thanks

Sorry to waste anyones time on this. This is an issue that you will see if you are running REX2020 weather. Later testing shows that if you are using the MSFS Live weather, that the waves/white caps will behave like they should.

So if you are seeing something like this, it is a problem using REX2020 weather. I have the latest version also.

Screen shot using MSFS Live Weather in the same area on the same flight with REX2020 disabled.

As you can see, no white caps.
