Weather Preset Pro

Hi.,

Anyone have tried Weather Preset Pro ?

How good is ? Worth it?

Works with weather live (ultra weather) ?

Thx

Thx @onkelyogi4210 work in weather live (ultra weather) ?

No, they are not worth it. These presets can be created using the in-game Weather menu. (They are just XML files with “.WPR” extension.) Some of them, however, use non-standard values, for example, the Aerosol Density is normally limited to 1 to 20 in the UI, but the authors put in 60 instead. You can do the same by editing your custom WPR files in any plain-text editor. It is surprising that ORBX would charge users money for that kind of thing.

Be warned, though: some non-standard values may cause your Sim to crash.

Tx @duesen

I think it works great and has some unusual presets. The free one caused me problems.

Yes they are worth it in my opinion. Lot of thought has gone into them especially some of the more complicated vertical wind profiles.

I’ve not seen any sim crash or performance issues.

Yes, you could build your own, by hand. And I did. But took me the best part of three days to get four presets working just right. So I’d say Weather Preset Pro is excellent value especially as more presets are in development.

Not really, when you compare it to that King Air 350i debacle. This is in no way like that, but I’m just emphasising the point that we are very much in the gold rush phase of the MSFS product cycle, and some greedy developers just want to make a quick buck. Dressing up a liveries pack as a new aircraft, for example.
