Website Based Logbook/Planner (MSFS 2020)

I know there are several Logbook requests to edit/delete. But my request is a bit more than just deleting bad entries of fixing existing one.

I would like a web based interface into my MSFS.

Logbook:

  • Like many others, I would like to delete entries or fix ones that are broken (missing Takeoff/Landings/Etc)
  • Import from FSX/P3D. I have kept my logbooks since FS98. I would love it if I can import at least FSX’s logbook.
  • Export to CSV or a way to back them up much like I did with P3D/FSX

Planner:

  • I would like a way to plan flights online where you can set things like parking/runway/routes/aircraft.
  • Save these as I often like to repeat some flights as I beta test a lot.

Pilot Showcase:

  • Have a public site where you can show off your hours, favortie airport/aircraft, logbook entries.
  • I don’t care about Xbox Achivements but I know there are many that do, so even put them on this public facing website.
  • Allow it to be public or private or what is shown and can be customizeable.
  • Include a way to communicate to the other pilot so you can setup a flight to do together in the linked modes.

FWIW, I have been using FS Logbook Editor for quite a while now and it does the job very nicely. As a long time simmer I decided in 1998 that I wanted to preserve a permanent record of my sim flights.

The tool I linked above allowed me to combine my FSX and P3D logbooks into a single comprehensive file, so I then had a complete logbook up until the release of MSFS. Since the MSFS logbook file is much different than FSX/P3D, I now manually update the logbook after each flight in MSFS. Not a big deal since real life pilots do this manually today.

That said, this tool is a good intermediate solution that could do the trick until a website-based product like you are suggesting. Check it out if you have the time.

Sartanius, I actually use that very one to keep a comprehensive logbook. You are right, it is a good tool until something better comes out.
