Weird behaviour Cessna 208 navionics connected to time of day

The screens (all three) for the avionics in the Caravan turn off when it gets late! Moving the time slider to earlier in the evening brings them back on. Nav brightness is set to 100%. Kind of a big deal as I am flying a night mission… Anyone?

It’s a known issue:

I need an aircraft like this where I can load in the flightplan and that can keep up with a DC-3, or do the same speeds as one just about. Tried the King Air but the flightplan is not displayed when I start up, and I don’t know that system. Any workaround that reliably works?

Are third party add-on aircraft out of the question here?

In other words, are you looking to use a base sim aircraft only?

I’m confused about your statement regarding the King Air. If I set up a flight plan on the World Map I see it is pre-loaded into the King Air. (Did you turn on the Avionics Master Power switch?).

I have created a bushtrip, and set it to load fp into GPS. When I start up the C208 the flightplan shows as a purple line, but the line is not there when I start up the King Air (like it is in your screengrab). I see the plane at the correct location on the airfield so it has GPS lock. Maybe nav wasn’t set to GPS, but shouldn’t the line be visible regardless?

Yes, the line should be visible.

Are you setting up an IFR flight plan? If so, does your departure have vectors as a part of the procedure? That can result in a lack of a magenta line until past the vectors portion of the FP.

If you zoom out, do you still have nothing, at all?

It’s a VFR flight. I’ll test more tomorrow

Loaded up the flight again. The flightplan is in the computer, but there is no line on the map.

I do have the pointer in the primary display.

Anything I can do to bring up the line on the map?

I’d like to try and replicate this myself.

What is that first waypoint you show in your flight plan? It looks like “POI1”. What is that?

What do you have selected beyond that?

Um, this is not a C208. That is a G3X display. The C208 comes with the G1000 unless you bought the Black Square Analog mod.

Start at the top of the thread.

They started with the 208 and have switched to the King Air.

The title could use an updating to reflect what is going on here.

Oh that’s it! the first waypoint is at the departure airport. Can’t remember why I had to do it that way. It was a workaround in Bushflight Injector because you can’t have waypoint comments on the airport itself because that does not show up in the navlog.

Agree about the title change. But the original problem persists (unless Asobo decide to fix it I guess).

The King Air is not a good substitute for a VFR flight because of the low wing and giant engine blocking most of the view. Might just change the departure time instead and keep the 208. If it is dark you can’t see anything anyway.
