Weird graphical artifacts around cockpit at night on AMD RX 9000 Series GPUs

Thank you, do you know if it will be fixed during this current beta? Is that their aim?

Thank you for letting us know. Much appreciated. :slightly_smiling_face:

Good to know I hope we all see the issue fixed soon

Any information about when it will actually be fixed? We’ve been dealing with this for almost a year, through no fault of our own, and bar a few posts and a mention in a stream or two, it’s basically been radio silence. Just really miss flying at night!

Hey, we need to be more productive and come up with a solution. This issue has been going on for almost a year, and we haven’t seen any updates or light at the end of the tunnel. We’ve been very patient with this situation, but our patience is starting to run out.

Is this still targeted for SU5?

Just want to update i have a gigabyte rx 9070xt using 26.2.1 and su5 issues still present unfortunately, and what sucks is my current APLV2 career is for RUK and all my flights are usually at night since i use live time/weather. been having to resort to only flying day time =..(

I have to say the most frustrating part to all of this is the following fix.

  • Fixed a potential crash and stutters using FSR Frame Generation on NVIDIA Cards.

They will fix an FSR issue affecting NVIDIA yet an AMD issue existing for 10 months still goes unresolved.

I hope Asobo can understand our frustration.

yes 100% focus on Nvidia .

I had deferred night flying until now with all my hopes set on a bug fix in SU5. Very sad that something that was caused by a previous update is taking so long to get fixed. In the SU5 thread there is mention of someone experiencing this same issue, in the Install, Performance and Graphics section called Pixelated shadows and lighting. I just hope it hasn’t gotten any worse…

There better be a fix very soon or I will not be coming back to MSFS and I will encourage all 11,000 of my subscribers on YouTube to do the same.

Hey, are you that famous YouTuber?

10 months of broken night flying is absolutely absurd. Just insane. I admire how level-headed and patient the 9000 series owners have been but this INSANE. AND YOU STILL DELIVER FIXES FOR NVIDIA GPUs.

TIME FOR A MASS CHARGE BACK EVENT if they don’t fix this soon- whether it’s game pass or actual sim licenses, disputing with the credit card companies is probably the only way to bring this to the company’s attention.

Tired of waiting.

Not an AMD user, but I’ve been following this thread since it was created an all I have to say is wow. Absurd was the right word six months ago. It’s now reached insanity.

We’ve seen a PS5 release, Stranger Things release, three Sim Updates, and three World Updates. We’ve seen countless small bugs fixed. More bugs added. As mentioned above, there have even been fixes for Nvidia GPUs. But its been all words, no action on this one.

As a follower of the Sim Update 16 Feedback Thread, I’ve seen this happen one time too many.

But if Asobo can ignore this bug AFTER posting targets for a fix in SU3, 4, and 5, and they’ve still failed to fix it, what about that SU16 feedback thread? They haven’t even announced a target for it. They’ve barely even acknowledged it. It’s three steps behind this one. And this one is still unfixed. I am not optimistic anymore, I’m long past there. Both of these issues are a literal kick in the face to PC users.

Like MicahMesser said above, I too am on the verge of walking away from the MSFS franchise. These two massive issues both impact every sim session in their own way and are impossible to ignore. But more than that, the fact that the higher-ups at MSobo can keep getting away with kicking this can down the road, says that even when this is finally fixed, they’ll do it again with a different bug.

Do they simply not care? Do Jorg and the development team see these issues too? Or do they have their own build that doesn’t have these problems? Whatever it is, this situation is pathetic.

Yungmartin6502, I am 100% with you! The only way to get their attention and prioritize this bug is to give them thousands of refund requests.

Microsoft: if you want us to stick around, you’ve got to keep us happy. And the PS5 release was wonderful – for PS5 users. Stranger Things was cute – for some. But bug fixes are appreciated by all. Thank you for your attention, I pray I am not screaming into the void.

Whats the legal standpoint regarding refunds at this stage?

Anyone read the ToS?

I’ve always wondered, what if this wasn’t a bug related to AMD GPUs but a bug related to AMD CPUs. Would it have gone on this long?

The answer is obvious.

I don’t think it has anything to do with AMD CPU, since it happens to my Intel 14900 setup as well with my 9070xt

He is saying what if it impacted AMD CPUs (used by maybe 50+% of users) vs GPUs (used by 10%?) different slices of the revenue pie.

in other words Asobo/MS are coin-operated in these matters.

In all honesty we are all frustrated I just want to have the enjoyment of flying at night AND if Asobo keeps the promise of SU5 being the focus point I will be less angry about this but for now nothing we can do except wait and be patient. But come on 10 months is way too long to work around this issue.

Correct, that is exactly the point I was making…
