I can agree on the Meigs Field Add-on. Since the start of my flightsimming carreer, i’ve grown very fond of this destination in the water of Chicago… with the disappearance of the Airport from 2003 on, the love in the flightsim community is still apparent and i’m pretty sure the revival of this airport was requested from day 1 of Flightsim2020.
There is a free version here https://flightsim.to/file/834/merril-c-meigs-field-kcgx
but the Author has also done some extensive work for a payd addon, with more detailed buildings. i think the link is actually on the same page of his freeware.
Another great little private airfield/airport is E55 Ocean Ridge Airport near Gualala California, USA.
I love it for it’s dence wooded area, the sidewind approaches and often low cloud ceiling, making this quite a challenge at times. It’s just a strip with quite a small apron, one taxiway and some buildings, but the location makes this one the most interesting to me.
One of the striking approaches i actually took a screenshot of (back in september last year, lol… i should redo my screenshots!)
I live in and fly for real in the Northeast US, I love flying around here. As @FaultedBirch573 said, we’ve got the Cape and Islands (there’s a bunch of addons for them, including mine). I fly out of Nashua, NH, and I’ve done that airport, KCON in Concord, NH, KBED in Bedford, MA, as well as a now gone but beautiful airport I used to love to fly out of, 69NH (formerly 8B8), in Wolfeboro, NH in the middle of Lake Winnipesaukee.
I’ve nearly finished about 9 airports around the White Mountains I should probably release at some point…
It’ll be awesome when they finally release seasons for the sim to fly up in the Whites…
