What Did They Do To The A320?

Nij. Is the 320 climb to a cruise of 39000 working for you?

I have the AP controlling the speed so the mach number isn’t showing. I am descending now anyway, I will try on a longer flight tomorrow.

The changing from Mach to knots isn’t fixed either, once its mach no way to change back

Like I said I am having to descend now, I am at 15k.

I only got to 28k before I had to start descending, London to Amsterdam was too short a flight really

Yes was asking nij

I’ll check tomorrow, I’ve shut everything down for today. Be aware that FL390 is pretty high for an A320, you’ll need to be very light to reach it. I’ll try to find a QRH tomorrow to check weight vs max. ceiling.

Having 500 ft/min at FL 320 when heavy or at high cost index (trading performance for speed) is not unusual . If we really wanna know whether its right or wrong we need to compare it with the AFM.

Also I don’t know what the normal climb schedule is but if the transition from EAS to Mach is not happening the climb will likely level out at some point.

Sounds good. Respect your opinion as an instructor. Thank you and will be waiting for your findings

You could compare it with this? Its not very detailed info and I don’t know what weight this is based on, FL390 on max. take-off mass sounds high to me… I assume its some average weight.

Anyway, here they use 290 kts until reaching Mach .78 and then Mach .78 up to FL390.

Its also not specifically for the Neo but if the performance would differ significantly they would have given it a specific ICAO designator.

So I presume FBW mod is broken ? Also, are the FBW team aware of the flight model changes by Asbob?

yes they are aware

Thank you. Will be doing some reading tomorrow.

Can anyone shut off the engines after the patch ?

So we don’t need to use flybywire mod, do we? ^^

Haha. And thank you. A positive post patch post [excuse the alliteration there]!

What gets me is headings in the way of: “Asobo broke the AP” or “MS ruined the sim” et al.
This hysterical nomenclature should, at least, include the word MY!
As in, MY AP and MY sim!

People do no’one any service be assuming that things are broken for everyone.
They are NOT.

Regards.

There is a way to change it back!
You can bind a key to „ SET AP MANAGED SPEED IN MACH OFF“ as described here:

Steady mate …steady…a flying game is more accurate

Dunno. The default A320 is flying very nicely.

I have to agree. To me it seems more realistic that you can’t get to FL390 with 90% FOB and a high PAX load. I am doing a step climb at the moment, going from CYYR to EGCC. At the start the A320 couldn’t get beyond FL320 but now, after I’ve burned some fuel off, it’s climbing OK (at 400fpm) to FL350. This is in managed speed mode (Mach 0.78). I did set CI to 50 at the start but I’m unsure if this even works in the default A320? Anyway, I think it’s better.

Couple of other things I noticed:

(1) Fuel Xfeed switch light is lit (OPEN and ON). I swear this wasn’t the case before (i.e. it was dark if xfeed was on)? Is this correct or did my brain just ignore the light before?

(2) No visible icing on the engines and leading edges. Prior to the last update I always had major icing visible on those, even with anti-ice on (A320 default and FBW version). Having been in more A320’s than I can shake a stick at I thought this was very odd so good it’s gone

Nope ! I never succeed to turn off the engines after I got to the gates. And I do not know why.

I did not reinstall the FBW mod after the patch. Everything seems O.K.

There is Eurocontrol one for the A320neo, I was looking with the wrong body-part.

Also you might find this one interesting, does affect the Airbus as well:
