Today I flew a short hop from Sweet Mahon KEUG to South Oregon Regional KOTH. Filed for IFR but cancelled it when I was assigned a visual approach to 22. With the cloud covering some high ground on the approach, it was difficult to descend below it safely until over the airfield. I did a very fast landing flaps up in the DA62x. The METAR and the sim did not agree but, with hindsight I should have opted for an instrument approach to 05 and circled to land. I must also learn to overshoot when I get my approach wrong.
