Made it to Bintulu (WBGB) Malaysia.

Bintulu. After 10 days and 32 Airports, Bintulu is just…meh… Maybe I just need a good sleep.

Not going anywhere until this clears. Yep…sleep looks good…

DA40NG ‘DANG’ Adventure.

Bintulu (WBGB) Malaysia to ???

A few hours sleep make all the difference. Weather looks fine. Off we go. Just a 40min flight to Sibu (WBGS)

Okay… more clouds…just go higher. Up to where we belong…right?

It worked…

It worked sort of…
Sibu ATC informed me the Airport is closed. No problem. Re-route to Kutching Intl (WBGG)

That is not nice at all. Right…sigh… guess what? You guessed right. Kutching is closed also. What now? Got plenty of fuel…no problem on that end.

Make toward the Coast and look for a break. Re-routing to any airport/airfield still open.

Got my break. Found Airfield. Singkawang (WIOI) It is Grass, but who cares?

Safe landing. All Peachy. Still got juice for 3 more hours of flight. So it is just waiting until things improve.

Can one believe that! I think I knocked my head somewhere. A Restaurant in the middle
of nowhere :rofl:at least I will not starve whilst waiting. But first things first. I do not even know what country I am in? Malaysia or Indonesia? Who cares. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Now I am back in SAWH, learning how to fly this:

When I saw the restaurant I wondered if you were flying near Bermuda Triangle and had gone back in time to Western times, as there is no road

You can have a nice Christmas Dinner there whilst you wait! but don’t forget to tie your aircraft to the pole outside

:sunglasses: Thanks. I will tie ‘DANG’ up. Promised. You have fun learning how to handle the ‘Thunderbird’. Good luck.

I realized the FlyingIron Spitfire is on sale on the company website and at today’s exchange rate, it came to just over USD$20. That was an easy trigger to pull.

But dang, taildraggers, man, whew. Took me three times to get off the ground - the first time, I managed to crash without even letting off the parking brake, lol. Turns out the engine torque is enough to rotate the plane around its own axles and faceplant if you do a run-up without realizing how powerful the engine is. Anyway, after those failed attempts, I put in some rudder trim, backed off the prop torque, and let the plane make a lower-power takeoff run. After a ten minute circuit to try to get a general feel for the plane, I managed to made a safe approach and touchdown but once again, taildraggers! I had to slow by keeping firm back pressure on the stick and gently tapping the brakes repeatedly to slow to a stop. Otherwise I ran the risk of face-planting once again. This is going to be a fun challenge to learn how to fly safely and confidently!

Testing my new steering equipment with a 45 minutes flight with the Mooney M20 Ovation.

This Park Ranger Cessna 172 one could not take-off from the Lower Loon Creek landing strip so I choose the stronger Mooney, but the stronger Mooney could not take off from Lower Loon Creek either, so I chose a different airport with no STOL necessary… and this flight went well.

I still don´t really understand this gauge here. Does this mean 36 horsepower per cylinder is actual power?

Next time I am going to test if the Kodiak 100 can take-off from Lower Loon Creek.

Flew from Telluride to Aspen yesterday. IFR only but landed anyways in the thickest of fog. The King Air made it possible. Couldn’t see the runway until I was nearly on top of it. Nice flight back to Telluride today once out of the Aspen.

Finally got the DC6 fired up, taxi and take off, then climb up to FL160, anti-ice on.

That will do for today! tomorrow will see if I can actually land this beast.

Slowly making my way through the PDMG tutorials on YouTube. As excellent as always!

If I can land it, then I can actually start using it in Air Hauler 2 and hopefully not damage it.

Today I checked the add on planes in the marketplace (xbox). Spent some time researching some of the aircraft on sale to determine none are particularly worth my money. Bombed around in the BD-5J. Wish they’d fix the audio on startup with that.

I agree. In my opinion the best planes are not found in the msfs Market place. I wonder why? Just saying. Still, there are a few planes that are noteworthy. These however do not appeal to me. My bad…:sunglasses:

DA40NG ‘DANG’ Adventures.

Made it to Depati (WIKK), Indonesia.
Interesting place. Watched dancing Cessna.

I think the Cessna was drunk.

Researched Detroit before I did my series on it(almost done).

Had my mind blown when I learned “The Motor City” has one of the countries worst ratios of people who own cars. The national average is 8% per city, where as Detroit…“Motor City” has 24.7% of it’s population without a car. That’s about 1 of every 4 residents not owning a car. That’s insane to me especially when you see how much of the city limits these car manufacturing companies take up.

I’m saving the best(Downtown) for last but I also learned where there are only 13 cities to have 4 major sport teams, and 4 cities to have all four teams play within their city limits, only one city has all 4 sport teams located in their downtown area. Detroit.

They for sure are a challenge at first, but once you get the hang of it(which sounds like you are) you can really start to appreciate this bird. Huge tip I recently learned that works on many planes including the Spit, is to pull back on the yoke when you hit the breaks. It won’t make the nose dive down.
