Got the Garmin 3000 mod updated and flew from KLNK to KBZN. I’m sure Rex Weather Force should have shown more snow somewhere, but I’m not sure the sim would do better. Tomorrow I’ll check.Uploading: 2021-03-12 13_29_49-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 13_49_53-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 13_52_02-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 13_52_07-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 13_59_40-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 14_04_48-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 15_36_40-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 15_58_22-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 16_22_37-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg… Uploading: 2021-03-12 16_35_46-Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.14.5.0.jpg…

Nice evening flight from Edinburgh to Newcastle to recover the CJ4 “Silver Bullet” I left there last week. Nice flightplanned route down the coast VFR, turned in towards the airport and clicked Approach - nothing! Okay, so hand flew it in, a little hot so floated a bit. Parked up then realised I hadn’t actually programmed in the ILS - doh!

Check list, check list, check list. check list…check…

And this is why I love having the FPM in WT. People tell me I’m cheating all the time. This is a field that’s supposed to have an RNAV and VOR approach, but neither one are available in the sim planner. ATIS reports a half-mile viz.

So yeah, drop to 800’, slow down, when you break out the threshold, put the FPM on the end and plant it. ATC having a heart attack because I’m well below crossing alts.

Today I’m still trying to figure out why my A32NX FBW mod isn’t working correctly since sim update 3. I’ve spent the last five days troubleshooting why I have random issues with it.

  1. Won’t follow the FP/route on AP
  2. PFD screen randomly went black
  3. Master caution light can’t be disabled and sometimes dings nonstop
  4. Noticeable loss of FPS and micro-stutters are back. It ran really smooth before the update on my PC

So far, I’m not having any luck finding solutions or getting help, so here I sit grounded, still…

Got up way too early in LA, so I set up a coastal flight from Newquay to Glasgow… AI planes, oil rigs, and ships kept me company…

I flew from Las Vegas to Bryce canyon, a short leg as part of my roadtrip through america back in 2012.
Next stop, monument valley.

That would give Rommel’s Chief of Staff a bit of heartburn.

Tried my luck at long haul for Once, London to Greece.

Must say for me the departure and arrival are the fun parts, the hours between those two are rather boring, so did some other stuff in the mean time (gave ATC to the copilot, first time I’ve used her).

Poked my head in occasionally and must say, there were some beautiful sights along the way.

The real time weather throws up some amazingly convincing effects.

Today I flew 47 nautical miles, from Itxassou France (LFIX) to Sangüesa Spain (LESG). It took me 1 1/2 hours, and I reached the astonishing altitude of 4650 ft!

I leave the fields of southwest France behind me.

Ahead, the western end of the Pyrenees.

I’ve not decided whether the lack of a firewall and floor in this beauty is a good thing or not. On the one hand, it improves forward visiblity. On the other hand, improved forward visibility isn’t always a good idea, if all it does is remind you that you are up here with nothing to land on but trees if the engine quits.

One last ridge to get over, and its downhill the rest of the way.

Destination in sight. A nice wide grass strip, though I have a crosswind…

…which does what it always does when you land this thing. Once you are down, you have no brakes, and no directional control at all. You just hope for the best. I swung into the wind (only 4kt, but enough), and ended up on the road at the edge of the strip. Which was fortunately level, since with any slope I’d have carried on rolling until I hit something.

Beautiful plane, and at that speed, photogrammetry in London should be able to keep up!

2 days struggling to get more than 5fps by my brand spanking new Oculus Q2 after lots of work just to get it working via a tether. wifi server in the headset crashes… currently unusable. :worried:

for the Tether… the headset still seems to perform well, at least the boundary is smooth and the PC’s performance seems ok. In VR-MODE without the headset connected it runs smooth enough on the pc. Without a dedicated utility to check, I am guessing the front USB3 port or cable is the choke point.

my only remaining option is the router restart I am about to do (yes dedicated 5ghz network), and maybe fumble around the back with other usb ports. Various forums don’t give me hope for the headset wifi server… there seems to be an issue

Had an amazing flight from Bryce canyon to monument valley in my Bonanza today.
I navigated with google maps on my iPhone and looking for landmarks in the sim.
Awesome how accurate this world is!!

Unfortunately a few meters prior to touchdown at Kayenta the framerate issue kicked in almost causing me to crash.
I’m glad that didn’t happen.

Attempted a flight from Marco to Key West.

Huge, long lasting stutters before CTD.

GMTT (Ibn Batouta International) to LXGB (Gibraltar) - Cirrus SR22

It’s always so cool to transit two continents in one short flight- North Africa to Europe. RNAV R27 via PIMOS.
