Short Field, Soft Field, Over Water Approach
The LongEZ is neither a short field, nor soft field fit, but it is the plane I have the most hours in and like to fly the most.
There is an 1800 foot grass strip with a water approach on both ends located on the southwest gulf coast of Florida, that I like to fly into sometimes - FL90 whose very name portends the landings there - “Salty Approach Airport”.
I doubt anyone would attempt it with a LongEZ IRL, but that’s where I like to put down for my $100 hamburger. (Actually its a private aero-club strip but Nick B’s at North Cap has a $12 hamburger and much sought after chimichurri sauce. )
(No comment about the downwind takeoff…)
