Testing some things out in the TBM 850, so we took a quick trip from Happy Camp to Crescent City. Used a VOR to find my way to the ocean, then hand flew the landing. Overall, a good flight that allowed me to test some of the engine tolerances and wear features.

Oh, and I adopted a dog. Meet Max. He seems to enjoy flying.

Short morning hop from Multan to New Delhi. Beautiful areas between the cities, but the smog is insane! Almost impossible to see the runways before touching down.

Flew the B787-1000 as SIA42SB from Singapore Changi (WSSS) - Kuala Terengganu (WMKN) using BeyondATC

I haven’t flown the 787 since ages, it was pretty hard to rembeber how to do what. Until the last seconds landing was an impending disaster, I’m quite ashamed of it, yet also quite proud that I was able to salvage it.

BTW Destination airport obviously not fit for the Dreamliner

Another random flight with no destination set, this time with a bit of a faster plane.
Start: Morgan’s Airport (OR71) located in Ballston, Oregon, United States

End: Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport (Rock Springs, WY) RKS

Hit my first snowy landing of the season, wasn’t much on the ground but that wind made me go grab a hoodie after I landed. I guess I should pack one now when I fly cause we are getting into that season

Today I went aurora hunting again on my favorite KEF-OSL sector, with //42’s forecast website showing heavy solar activity along the route between Iceland and Norway.

Despite this, with the SimFX Aurora setting set to ‘real time’ with both real world weather and real time, no Northern Lights presented themselves and I had to revert to the “always on” setting to get the result I was hoping for. Enjoy a few shots from SK4788 all the same! :iceland: :norway:

Did you need additional add-ons to see the Northern Lights?

Yep, SimFX in MSFS: SimFX - Visual Effects Utility

FS24 will have them by defaut.

I Journeyed To The Center Of The Earth

Thanks for the info, but I’m on Xbox, so I don’t believe I can get that add-on.

Although if FS24 will have them by default, that’s even better.

Flew the fs studios erj 175LR from KROC to Charlotte NC, i really wish we had a erj 145

Me: I will not buy another plane so close to FS 2024

Narrator: He did in fact buy another plane 20 days out from FS 2024

Today I tested out my new Kodiak, bringing Max along for the ride. Taking off from KSAC, we headed VFR to Bailey Ranch, NV13, adjacent to Washoe Lake in the Eastern Sierras. Flying an area I know well (Northern California) not only allowed me to do almost pure VFR, but I took the opportunity to adjust some control bindings so I can more effectively adjust my trim. Overall, a productive flight, although being my first grass field, it took me a couple of times to get down on the ground. Max was a trooper, however, continuing to hold his steady pose.

A beautiful morning for taking out the new Kodiak.

Flying over KSMF. I’m sure ATC wasn’t too pleased with me here, but it served as a good reference point to turn east toward Tahoe.

The beautiful Lake Tahoe. I’ll never grow tired of that sight, either in sim or in person.

Turning in to do a bit of exploring down in Emerald Bay. While the flight was almost completely VFR, I did have a flight plan programed into the G1000 just in case I lost my way.

Fannette Island in Emerald Bay; while close, not quite how I remember it in real life. I’ll have to see what sort of scenery I can find to make it more realistic.

Headed up and out of Tahoe, following Highway 50 further north before it turns east toward Carson City.

I think I see the airstrip in the distance. Don’t ask me how many go-arounds I needed to do before we got the landing right. Those adjacent mountains did provide a bit of challenge.

Finally on the ground. now time to go exploring.

Either Max really loves the new plane or I scared him so much on the landing attempts that he is frozen in shock.
