Felt like flying a Southwest Airlines flight today, Orlando (KMCO) to Nashville (KBNA) on the default 737 max 8 (1 hour and 55 minutes of flight time)
I see my house in the Hanford shot.
Boy you’re kinda out in the middle of nowhere huh
Short flight today, Default Saab 340B from Nashville (KBNA) to Mc Ghee Tyson (KTYS) in 1 hour and 15 minutes flight time
Flew the HondaJet from Palm Springs to Cabo San Lucas. I think these 2 hour flights are the sweet spot for GA and the HJ covers a lot of ground in this time. My favorite GA aircraft was the TBM 930 but a VLJ is next level. I was going to buy the Citation X but I don’t want to do 4 hour flights. I love that cold and dark to start up is Honda Civic easy in the HJ.
I flew the ATR 72-600F in FS24 from Stuttgart (EDDS) to Bern Belp (LSZB) using BeyondATC:
Weather was really nice, flight was calm and comfy, surprisingly I even got the planned runway for both takeoff and landing, which BATC seems to like to change often, but luckily, not today. Landing went okayish, if a bit too firm maybe, although it was rather a long landing. What a luck that the ATR knows really well how to slow down.
Approach and landing video uploading to:
Nice approach and landing, even if it was a little long. Man, that ATR really does slow down in a hurry. Cool video.
I last landed at: SAWH
I then continued to: SFTA, SAWJ.
The initial plan was to fly to the furthest airport in South America (SAWH) then fly across the ocean and land somewhere in South Africa. Although plans quickly changed, I find that in MSFS2024 you can’t leave many of the planes as they will crash after a while (AI AutoPilot helps prevent this in MSFS2020) so after trying 3 different planes and finding out that the ETA was about 14 hours I thought I would have a go at it one night, got my plane up to cruise and went to bed. I wasn’t anywhere near South Africa when I woke up.
Feeling kind of defeated and disappointed I then flew to SFTA then SAWJ, the weird thing about SFTA is that if you look it up, that’s not the same airport is in the game. As in the game SFTA is on Falkland Islands.
Any how I then went to SAWJ which is also in Argentina.
At this point I decided to stay put.
I then took the time to reinstall MSFS2020 and I’m currently making my way down to that airport to pick up my MSFS2024 pilot.
Currently in MSFS2020 I flew from CYYZ to KCLT
Flew a short flight Mc Ghee Tyson (KTYS) to Charlotte (KCLT) in the default 737 Max 8, flight time was 1 hour and 17 minutes
Always a joy to come back to this freeware Rafale M when other aircraft get.. frustrating.
A quick jaunt down to the southern coast then back to Dezful Airbase, Khuzestan, Iran.
Continued on the World Tour from Haikou, China to Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong. Overall, a very nice day to fly with a tailwind of about 70 knots most of the way. After heading north from our departure, we continued down the coast until arriving at Kai Tak, relying on radio navigation throughout. As always with the Starship, a terrific flight. Unfortunately, weather wasn’t quite right for the RWY 13 approach, so I’ll have to try again next time. Even so, it was a magnificent approach into the city!
We did experience an unexpected failure of the MFD part way through the flight, but all other systems seemed fine and the nav radios remained operational, so we continued on to our destination.
I flew the HondaJet from London City (EGLC) to Leeds Bradford (EGNM) using BeyondATC:
Initially all was well, but infortunately Leeds had a thick fog even at ground level and I didn’t have the time to fly to an alternate, so I tried landing using synthetic vision, which didn’t really go well. I had the whole thing recoded, but I will just not share an illegal landing so no video this time.
Low flying challenge in the wilderness of Washington State.
For some reason, all my previous accomplishments of the Maverick challenge are gone; I only found out today. So, I attempted the first one.

Flew in the very south of the Philippines from the airstrip of Malita, sightseeing the mountain ranges, craters and rural areas, in real-weather, real-time.

Flew the default 737 max 8 from Charlotte (KCLT) to Rochester (KROC) in 1HR and 47 minutes of flight time
Just had the best flight ever in 2024. Flew this evening in SU4 again after weeks in SU5 from EGLL to EHRD, A320 and it was perfect. Never been so smooth, the lights like needle pinpoints, the depth of the landscape, panning without any stutter, switching cockpit/external instant lods, BATC planes smooth. Wauw. Almost feels SU4 got a silent update. And I love the updates in GSX Pro, lights on the side of the stairs, the walking on EHRD platform instead of busses as irl.
4070S, 14600K, 48 DDR4 m.2 dedicated drive, settings high, Lod’s 300/150, 3440x1440, 16GB RC, 1GB internet.
2020, Though the Solomons are topographically well done, the graphics for this part of Oceania has been left in the backwater. Any better in 2024? Also, airports have been scarce here and this is very scenic flying - oddly, there are a plethora of WWII versions of the airfields here. Whinging over, I noticed that Australia has much to do with the security of this region. Starting at Honiara, flew up to Tulagi
Then, on to Savo,
Pavuvu,
New Georgia, Rendova Island on the left, Munda ahead,
Blackett Strait and Ferguson Passage
and settling down on a quiet strip on Barakoma
Cheers!
Took the BS Bonanza Professional piston out for a spin in far northern California, heading from O46 (Weed, CA) to O81 (Tulelake, CA). Having made that drive in the car earlier today, I was curious to see how the sim matched up. Well, it was pretty on the ball right down to the strong gusty winds, which made my approach into Tulelake a bit tricky. All in all, a fun flight.
Started off with beautiful Mount Shasta in the distance - I never get tired of that site, either in the sim or in real life.
Flying over Lava Beds National Monument as I prepare for the final approach
Due to the winds, too much was going on to take pictures in the last few minutes, but it was a fun, if a bit treacherous, landing. I almost diverted to Klamath Falls.
