What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 3)

Random GA flying today

Hilton head island (KHXD) to Mitchell (KHSE) in the carbon cub (Taildragger) was a very enjoyable flight flying coastal NC

Night flight in the Phenom 300 from KBOI to KSEA. Had the opportunity to test out VNAV and it worked beautifully. Loving this bird.

2020, Torokina, Rabaul, Torokina… engine start-up effects, seen better. Even with low cruise rpm and fuel use, I still think AH need to tweak fuel use more if flyers want to do the Doolittle run properly… Otherwise, a decent flyer.

Has to be one of the best world updates ever

Haven’t flown the L39C Albatros for a while and haven’t flown in VR in a while either, so I decided to remedy that and continue my south american trip from where I left it:

Balmaceda (SCBA) to El Calafate (SAWC), no ATC, no traffic, but real time, real weather:

At first I flew quite civilian then thought why not, afterall with no ATC and no traffic I wouldn’t bother anyone, so I did some close to the ground flying and a couple of spin/stall practice. Landing went quite bad, flared way too high, then bounced and then bounced again  But of course it shouldn’t have come as a surprise it’s been ages since I last flew this plane.

It’s a pity Orbx abandoned such a classic machine. All it needed was a few tweaks to elevate it even more, but that was too much for them (or MS maybe, not sure who actually owns it now). You’d think fixing a few issues to make it better, then follow up with a targeted promo campaign around the aircraft’s legacy would sell enough to offset the costs and make money on top.

more GA flying in the carbon cub (Taildragger),

Coastal Carolina flying again because that’s where it’s vfr friendly right now, Mitchell (KHSE) to Charleston Executive (KJZI) (The Carolinas really need a world update) after going coastal I will have to go into the mountains after exploring the beaches

:backhand_index_pointing_up: :eyes:

Flew the Corvalis to Rocky River airstrip in Kangaroo Island Australia. I’d forgotten all about this place after flying to it a few years back on 2020 and again came about it by luck. Just a little bare airstrip in the middle of a vast forest. Just missed the small pond of rain water on landing

With all the hype surrounding the Phenom, I realized that I hadn’t taken out the M500 in a while, so we took a trip from KRNO to KSLC. She remains a solid choice and a lot of fun. Be careful not to burn out a generator on start up…

I flew from Kansas City,Mo. to New Iberia,La. where they had me land my Daher 930b on a water runway that was listed as grass. I successfully did! Even getting out of the water and being told to contact ground.

Casually cruising at a leisurely 100 knots up the coast of Queensland in WU21.

Checked out the Gold Coast:

and continued onto Brisbane.
Hmm… I need to avoid all these tubeliners around the airport:

I know! I’ll approach the city using a more indirect route!

I think I’ll be safe from tubeliners at this altitude…

Yup, no tubeliners here…

or here either!:

OK, I think it’s safe to gain some elevation:

After a quick refuelling stop at Archerfield (YBAF) :

I’m detouring east to Toowoomba:

Another PG area that I’ll have to check out later, so I think I’ll park right here at YTWB for now:

GA flying, Exploring the Carolina’s again,

Charleston Executive (KJZI) to Ocenee Co Regional (KCEU) in the xcub (taildragger) flight was very interesting going to Clemson SC, didn’t know Clemson was a lake town (so far, the Carolina beach towns used the same sceneries to make to same different sized beach towns, and downtown Charlotte is missing key buildings and Hiltonhead island airport doesn’t have the airline terminal)

Canadia river snake with bonus fauna

Nearly an hour into Cairn to Honolulu, via Marshall Islands is fuel doesn’t allow…

Early morning flight from KOKC to KAUS. Some storms on our way.
