Airstrip-hopping through the mountains of Idaho in the CubCrafters XCub:
We start off at Pisch’s Place (ID65)
Watch out for cows that have jumped the fence for greener pastures on the other side of the runway
First stop, Stocking Meadows (ID33):
Then Cayuse Creek /USFS/ (C64) :
Next up: Fish Lake USFS (S92):
Only to discover that I’d forgotten to pack my fishing rod.
Nice spot to relax, though:
Hence off to the twin runways of Elk City (S90), that appear as one curved runway:
Dropping into the Salmon river above Grangeville Airport (KGRJ):
And on to our destination for tonight, Wilson Bar USFS (C48) A great spot for camping:

2020, Got reacquainted with the Bell 47, using the new control settings. Took a bit, but I’m happy with the results, with no AP, flying with all the manual adjustments needed, taxes the patience at 69. So, left Burbank (when is ORBX ever going to get smart and put the helicopter pads where they belong, near Jay Leno’s garage?) in the Channel 5 Telecopter, through my home area, Sunland, up to Mt. Wilson, to downtown LA, passing Pasadena and LA County General - thanks to freeware helipad makers for jazzing up helo flying in this game over the years, and back to Burbank. Cheers!

My primary rig went down hard (all video ports borked) so it’s out for RMA. At least it was still under warranty until next year.
In the meantime, I dusted off my old rig which is an interesting exercise in incremental updates. I had already updated to Windows 11 to avoid the EOL rush in October, and had to reload both 20 and 24. 2020 with World Update Brazil and all the City updates is now 333 GB or so - that’s a bare minimum installation with just the mandatory stock aircraft, no Bush Trips, No Landing Challenges, no Discovery Flights.
It’s holding up fairly well though. I did have to add some important custom stuff, but it only added up to 8GB additional.

Pee-Wee and I finished Part 3 of our Hadrian’s Wall tour (and discovered that we’ll need a short Part 4, too). You can read it at Pee-Wee and Nag’s Skytours (and Other Thoughts).
The train’s going to have a hard time with that wall.
Hadrian’s blind spot.
Our message went up in smoke.
Don’t get her started…
I can see my house from here!

Celebrated my United States Independence Day holiday off work by two legs in the sublime Black Square Starship, KTEX (Telluride, Colorado) to KPSP (Palm Springs, California), then later from KSPS to KSLC (Salt Lake City, Utah). The ride into Palm Springs was decidedly more photogenic.

2020, Ramona scenery has this CalFire set-up. Wish there was more of that. At any rate, just bought the Bronco and took it up for a test flight to Palm Springs and back. Was happy with the plane, but disappointed that aero fire global did not register the Wolf Fire going on up there. Have to look into that.
