What do we like doing most in MSFS?

Pretty sure it’s still in my mom’s toy closet

What do you use for your replays?

Few things bring me as much joy as finally ‘getting’ a startup proceudure and being able to rattle through it without a checklist.

The MV-22 was my first cold/dark, and it a very forgiving/intuitive aircraft for learning that, even with the complication of nacelle position.

Since then I’ve moved onto the ATR, VisionJet and Airbus. Now it’s fun playing ‘where’s the APU’ and clicking white lights on the upper pannel.

So yeah. I said ‘Flight Simulator is an Afluent Adult Busy Box’. And I love it for that.

Currently, I like to learn 1 plane fully and fly it for a few months by doing trips across the US. It happens to be the C414 right now. I use live time and weather and follow procedures and try to fly “by the numbers”

After I fly into an interesting location I land, park the C414 and normally will grab the Birddog, Zenith 701 or Wilga and check out what the area has to offer visually. Then jump back in the C414 and fly my next leg. Rinse, repeat…

I have flown for a couple VA’s which got me to learn airliners and go to places I never would have, but I enjoy flying GA much more now.

Pretending.

By that I mean doing my best to learn the systems, procedures, and safe operation of my chosen aircraft. I’ll never be a pilot IRL. This sim can be a way to make-believe that I am.

Also, I’m a tweaker, and I love optimizing my computer to run the sim as fluidly as possible. I’m enjoying Spad.NeXt as well. It’s rewarding and frustrating. But in the end it’s a powerful tool that helps to configure the myriad of available peripherals for individual aircraft.

I like landing. I suppose watching clouds is also cool :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I picked up the HondaJet today, have to admit, I like pretending to be a corporate pilot flying execs around on short hops. These Avionics are… wow, okay I get it now with the Garmin stuff.

I started using ChatTGP to provide flight schedules. Either randomized, based on current routes or whatever parameters you give it.

I asked it to design a regional Italian airliner flying small airfield around the Mediteranean and I’m already having days of fun with it.

I like that you can build any plane or scenery yourself and enjoy it in the sim. The SDK is extremely capable of producing nearly anything that can fly, roll or float. Microsoft has delivered on the promise to make this sim relevant for 10 or more years. As long as the servers are up, you could make almost anything you could possibly want.

With MSFS the same as on real life: VFR on a little GA plane.
On the sim I can prepare my own missions, make the scenery for it and perform the mission. The planes: C310 Blackbird and DH.82 Tiger Moth Ant’s Airplanes.
