What do you miss?

I’m not sure I understand the question? My previous flight simulator would’ve been Microsoft Flight Simulator 5 or so, whichever added textures. It was much more limited and had a bad user interface and old-fashioned graphics, and I wouldn’t want to go back to it!

Not a thing because I still fly P3D, X-Plane and DCS. Replacing these with MSFS was never the intention.

What I look forward to are all the things that will be added to this platform as is happening now and will continue to happen well into the future.

ATIS that reports correct weather.

Yep replay is sorely missed. I like taking landing screenshots and it always screws you up pausing the game mid approach. I can’t pause my hand holding the flight stick in the exact same position while lining up the drone!

Forward view without obstructions would be nice to have back as well. Is there a way to get the drone to bank and turn with the plane? That would work.

What do I miss? Replay and a working dependable autopilot.

Basic things that each flight sim I own have but MSFS doesn’t (yet):

  • assign zoom view to axis (e.g. rotary or slider on hotas)
  • replay

Please.

A full A2A hangar and ChasePlane.

nothing MSFS is off my computer I’m flying the friendly skies with XP11 MSFS is far from a complete product and still in the BETA stage massive improvements are needed before I even attempt to use it again IMHO

I miss my entire A2A Simulations library, mostly the A2A C172, Piper Comanche and the doctor-killer V Tail Bonanza

I then miss my entire PMDG library: their 737, 777 and 747 QOTS. Also miss FSLabs’ A320-X.

Also miss Hotstart’s TBM-900, and Simcoder’s REP addons for XP’s default C172 and Carenado’s multi-engine Baron. Miss Milviz’s twin-engine trainer Cessna 310 from P3D.

Miss Leonardo’s MD-80 and Majestic’s Dash prop regional airliners. Miss RXP and XP11’s default GNS 530, 430 and G1000

:frowning: Miss them all, and hence decided to reinstall them one by one again. So right now I’m back to square one, with MSFS as an extra, and therefore I now have P3D, XP and MSFS all installed. Although P3D and XP have so many extremely realistic and high-end study level aircraft, it’s tough to use them amidst their garbage scenery and lighting, and even buying and adding scenery addons don’t make them as remotely good as MSFS. I just grit my teeth hard and fly them all over the garbage scenery lol.

Really waiting for JustFlight’s Arrow to come to the marketplace. It’s got some decent failures, spark plug fouling, persistence, functional circuit-breakers etc which is a bit like study-level and A2A-like but not 100 percent. But I’ll take what I can get. Right now we the MSFS users are imo beggers and therefore can’t be choosers lol.

A2A is the only thing I miss and need, desperately. The JF Arrow will have to hold me over until the Comanche drops. Hope it happens this year. Pretty much up to Asobo and the state of the aircraft SDK and this point.

Decent, in aircraft comms, Force feedback and a better multiplayer environment.

i miss not losing my flight log data.

A 737, (although I‘m quite happy with the CRJ and the A32NX for now), replay function and UHD mesh.

Instrument approaches down to minimums. Ceilings down to 100’, low visibility (RVR), foggy weather. And the ability to set these conditions on a consistent basis.

I don’t miss a thing. I still use XP11 about 95% of the time. FS 2020 doesn’t work (like it should) on multiple monitors. All it does is make one huge ugly screen. When (if?) they do I’d probably switch. There’s no doubt FS 2020 has the better eye-candy while flying down low.

XP11 runs perfectly smooth in VR using my “old” RX-590,i7 10700k @ 5 ghz, and 32 gig of 4000 mhz DDR4. FS 2020 requires a (currently priced) $1500-$2000 video card if one seeks decent performance in VR with the eye candy turned up.

I Miss the ability to load specific RVR and visibilities, correct ATIS and various other IFR functionality normally native in a Flight Sim.

A pushback mod like Better Pushback for X-Plane. And the ability to bind camera view to single keys instead of ctrl+ or alt+.

A good 737 for sure

I should first make it clear that I have no intention of going back to my previous sim of choice.
So when I state that the ‘thing’ I miss the most right now is reliability and functionality, I am
not being confrontational or churlish.

The multi monitor set up, it look ugly on MSFS 2020. Do not understand how VR gets so much development, try using peripherals with VR, you cannot find anything. Multi monitor set up gives you almost the same and the ability to see your controls, like a real pilot would do
