What does manual cache actually do?

Hey @psilentrain1,
Seems you’re correct. Makes me wonder why it takes so many hours of work to basically cache nothing then.

The 2nd post links the information you need.

you can change the location and delete the old one to effectively reduce the size, although you obviously need to download the terrain again

you need to zoom in to select higher resolution

not my experience. I did Seattle as a test, albeit a small area and it was about 4Mb. That was enough to cover the whole central area at high resolution

1 TB? I wouldnt go crazy. It seems the bigger the cache the longer everything takes in that section. Start smaller - and you can always go bigger on the cache size.

Some areas just dont create that much data, and you can delete the ones you have saved if you dont fly there anymore.

Ok, and if I have cached some 60 square miles, high level, does it look good when I fly offline ?
