I think I know what you are referencing here. Where there was once a “snow pack” when you have 30” of snow, there is now grass peaking through.
I’ve noticed this on many mountains I have landed on. In the past there have been clean, packed down snow. Now this grass texture is peaking though no matter the depth of snow set.
