What happened to buildings draw distance?

Since SU9 the draw distance is terrible. I just flew an approach to LFMN Nice, rumway 22L and you get really pretty close to buildings before making the turn into the runway. All buildings were grey with no textures and I could clearly see textures appear in front of me. Everything on ultra, LOD set to 200. This was not the case in SU8. Anyone have a clue what to do or did Asobo break LOD in SU9?

If the draw distance was really getting reduced in each and every update as people suggest then the draw distance would be close to zero by now. I don’t see any difference in draw distance from SU8, and I haven’t seen any screenshots that prove the draw distance has been reduced.

Slow servers?

I really don’t know. Same thing happens also in Paris and Frankfurt together with melted photogrammetry. This didn’t occur in Brussels though. I tried several times with same results and I’m sitting on 100mb fiber. Maybe servers or maybe old photogrammetry. Either way something is wrong with the sim.
My specs:

I9-10900F
RTX 3090
32gb memory
1 Tb nvme ssd

Really think this this is the reason

it looks terrible.
the LOD is set to 135

How wonderful. Now try Paris, London or runway 22L approach to Nice and then we can talk.

At first glance, yes.
But when you look at the mountains in the distance(green one). It’s very rough, and you can see the landscape maps refresh :expressionless:

Oh, I’m so sorry. I tought you were trying to prove me wrong.Looked at the picture on my phone. Head over to the bug section and vote for terrain LOD bug after SU9. Lots of people that have the same issue.

Here I have some new pictures. Looking at the Paris over 3000ft.

here is under 2000 ft

8000ft on jet

here is my setting, LOD=300

Experiencing the same issue in VR.

Have they included a lower resolution version that isn’t changing quick enough?

Problems starts when the mainthread gets overloaded. I’m sitting on a 3090 and everything on ultra and never get GPU bound. Since SU9 workload shifted heavily to the mainthread and I began to have these issues. I’m also 2 meters away from my LG 48CX looking at crystal clear 4K. Something is wrong with the mainthread overload which makes the scenery not render properly. It’s reported by others aswell with the high end systems in the bug reports section.

Thanks for sharing this, I have a high end pc too with 3090Ti and I didn’t know if it was my newly built $5,000 computer or the sim.

Hopefully it gets fixed in the upcoming update this thursday. But for sure something else is gonna break. No faith left anymore as every sim update has downgraded the visuals.
