Brief description of the issue:

The “Real World” has disappeared! Scenery has become simply generic. No recognizable landmarks in PHoenix or Scottsdale. Domed baseball stadium in Phoenix? Gone, baby, gone. Trees? Nearly all gone. This all happened right after downloading SU11 and all the World updates. This is the first time this has happened. All prior updates, no bad effects at all.

Ensure the sim has not tuned off data during a disconnect. It did that to me earlier.

With this update a lot of people have been caught out by this - if the marketplace stays greyed out you may well be in offline mode.

Happen to me too. You have to go to General->DATA and make sure ONLINE FUNCTIONALITY is on.

When the sim Disconnects from the server it’s turning it off and most of the time when it reconnects, it doesn’t turn it back on. You have to do it manually.

OP here. Thanks for the replies. Yes, my Marketplace is grayed out! I will try the suggested fix. FYI, Canada and the USA were affected. I tried major cities and airports across the US. All affected. Europe/UK not affected. Tried London, Innsbruck, Paris, Rome, Milan. All cities and scenery not affected. When flying yesterday, I lost connection on almost every flight–far more times than I normally experience. This is the first time that I have experienced a major problem like this with either an SU or WU. Appreciate the help.

Same thing happened to me after the update. Go to the settings and go back online.

Yes, world data is disappearing,
Provide extra detail to complete the original description of the issue.
Connection is dropping every few minutes and then reconnecting, but the scenery is completely gone now. Have checked all settings, data is set to online, and my internet d/l speed is 1Gb+/sec.
