This issue seems to be unresolved. I have a very fast fibre connection in Belgium, and each initial startup takes 15 - 20 min with Activating packages. 25% - 100% follows very quickly. Has anyone managed to find the solution. I’ve already done the “update drivers” route without any success.
Unfortunately I think we just have to wait for them to address this. It would be nice if they at least said they’re aware of the long load times, I think they addressed it at launch but hopefully they know it still isn’t fixed.
i live in the southern part of germany and my startup needs about 2-3hours. the longest time is needed for the activation.
regards
Blimey, and I thought 30 mins for me was bad (well, 20mins from MS Store and 40mins from steam, not sure why the difference). Pretty much 99% of that time is spent 7-17% activating packages.
My thoughts are that it’s longer if you have lots of FS2020 packages ported over (I have 37 from the looks of it, friends with less load faster). Do you have many?
From first click until start screen 1.10 min. Including the 3 first loading screens
Something may have changed as first time ever instead of 37 minutes was able to get in within maybe 5 or so. Hope it improves for everyone also!
No change here unfortunately…17 minutes this morning
8 mins here today
Brazil, Steam, Aviators version, no Community folder items
I dont think it matters if your community folder is empty, at the moment without marketplace enabled anything in there you would have to put it in yourself.
Have you ever bought content on FS2020? If so that will likely be in your FS2024 streamed packages list in the marketplace “my library” (or in the folder I can’t recall the location). My uneducated theory is it’s those, and the act of trying to validate them with the server, that cause “activating packages” to take longer for some than others, regardless of whether you’ve done the community folder empty folder fix.
Available bandwidth for your machine’s internet connection is not the limiting factor. I’m watching the Resource Monitor and it’s barely cracking 1mbps, despite me having a 500mbps connection (as many others have also reported). This is a server side resource issue. Last time I loaded (20 mins ago), it took about 3 minutes…this time around it’s absolutely crawling, and barely using my network interface.
This was poor planning on their part, having such a resource-intense check on EVERY startup for EVERY user.
The issue appears to be a system clock issue, much thanks to the person who discovered it
Go into your date/time menu and toggle off/back on Set time automatically, then click ‘Sync now’
My game went from 20 minutes to start up to about 2.
Wow that really did the trick…
From 10 minutes back to little as 2 minutes
Yep this also works for me, insane that’s the fix!
unfortunately didn’t worked for me this trick
