What is that MSFS 2020 background music?

I really like the background music in MSFS 2020 (Xbox Series X|S, I presume it’s the same on the PC version).

Does anyone know if it’s available to listen to outside of MSFS 2020? It’d be great for meditation, mindfulness and yoga!

The music is on the MSFS youtube channel

Thank you! I found the name of the company that produced the music from the YouTube video descriptions. It is Finishing Move Inc. I’ve emailed them to see if I can purchase the music that they created for MSFS 2020.

Well you already purchased it.
You can find it in Official\OneStore\fs-base-soundbanks\SoundBanks
but it’s a PCK file for all MSFS music (database file of a game engine).
I think you can unpack this with a program that is suitable. Seems tedious though.

I usually stream a lot of youtube music, I would just add it to a playlist.

Or just do a search on YouTube, there are a few people that have created hour long videos of the music, that you can loop all day long.

The music really is top notch. They knocked it out of the park. I’m constantly switching between Color 1, 2, and Legacy. I still think Color 1 is my favorite though.

The entire sound team nailed it - both for music and atmospherics. They’ve also set a really high bar for engine sounds in the default / Asobo aircraft.

I love it too, and I found that the “Singapore Airlines Boarding Music” track is great also. It’s ten minutes long, and I play it on Spotify in the background when I’m flying (along with a lot of other similar background music that I’ve found).

I like some airlines’ boarding music too - seek out Emirates boarding music!

Well… while we’re on the subject…

I also complimented the ‘Audio-department’ for their Music and High-quality Sound recording. Being a Composer myself I admire the atmosphere they created for FS. They found a perfect balance for all simmers and I’m happy to see it’s appreciated. There’s also a video on YT that shows how they recorded the inside-game sounds. It’s incredible to see how much effort they put into these recordings. Manny of us just take it for granted (and that’s what it’s meant for) but it surely contributes to the overall experience and ambience.

Though i agree with most of the above I have to say that over time even the best music becomes annoying if you listen to it many, many, many times.

I wish there were a greater selection to choose from, and or new music being made awailable.

I dread that I have to listen to the same music in 5 years …sic

Thanks Jim.

Now I can finally load this up as a file in Guitar Rig and play along.
Fellow Flyers - Standby for screaming guitar solos and drum fills galore!

Sounds cool, especially appropriate for Reno air races some E frett fat boutique riffs

After so many restarts and sitting through endless installations with that music on, I set all music to 0 volume in game. It was good music the first month, then it started getting repetitive, then grating, then obnoxious. Nowadays I only hear the music when the game wants to start in safe mode after a CTD, so it just gives me a nasty feeling lol. Literally clicking play on that you tube video above raises my stress level. It was good, once a long time ago.

Maybe with each world update, they could add a new audio theme or intro…!

I’m a head banger from way back, so I can’t wait for the Fly Now button so the music will end. I wish I could drop in my own music. I’d either do something calming like “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” any of a large number of aviation-themed rock tunes.

@SvenZ My sentiments exactly.

You propably know that, but can turn the music volume to zero in the options.

If you are on Xbox, look into the Simple Background Player app. It lets you play music from a USB STick while any game is running.

I like the MSFS music, but I listen to other music when flying, both on PC or Xbox.

I just click on my second monitor. I have the sound set to mute when MSFS is not “in focus,” so just clicking anything else mutes it. If I’m stepping away while it loads, I leave it playing. The loading music changes when it gets to the home screen, so I get an audio cue when it’s ready.
